A painting of the prophet Lorenzo Snow by John Willard Clawson

"When you find yourselves a little gloomy, look around you and find somebody that is in a worse plight than yourself; go to him and find out what the trouble is, then try to remove it with the wisdom which the Lord bestows upon you; and the first thing you know, your gloom is gone, you feel light, the Spirit of the Lord is upon you, and everything seems illuminated."

Lorenzo Snow

Everything is illuminated when I look at a neighbor with love,

Everything is brighter when I think of God above.

My troubles fade and peace distills as I help another stand,

I walk away from giving love and feel that all is grand!

The darkest day is changed as I reach out with care,

The brightest light fills my soul, when I choose to share.

My burdens feel light as I give the very best of me,

The antidote to felling sad is to be what I should be.

The dusty road of trial becomes a path quite clear,

I walk and sing with a happy heart and feel God near.

Hands busy with love and light, have little time to mope,

The busy soul who gives his love will find the strength to cope.

So look around on a cloudy day and be the sunshine you crave,

Remember that your God will see everything you gave.

Loving actions will change the brightness in a room,

A servant lifting another in need always dispels the gloom!

Joseph F. Smith, by A. Salzbrenner

“Everywhere in nature we are taught the lessons of patience and waiting. We want things a long time before we get them, and the fact that we want them a long time makes them all the more precious when they come.” Joseph F. Smith

My Dream

I glimpsed in a dream a garden with flowers sweet and bright,

I woke amid a winter’s storm and longed for warmth and light.

Again I dreamed and glimpsed a couple hand in hand,

I woke and sighed wishing I could know something so grand.

A third dream was a vision of a baby smiling so sweet,

I woke to my empty house and longed for such a treat.

A devoted life brings glimpses and seeds stored high above,

God will keep your dreams and hopes with a Fathers perfect love.

No blessing denied a valiant soul, for all are precious and dear,

So smile when you see a promise and keep it ever near.

And amid the sorrow of waiting keep looking up,

For God with loving care is filling up your cup.

One day the waiting will be done and you will come to see,

The dreams you waited to hold, are the truth of what will be.

Then your heart with joy will feel the power of love,

As you receive of the garden grown by God above.

So bounteous and beautiful nurtured just for you,

Blessings sweet and sacred for a child dear and true!

Heber J.Grant, by C.J. Fox

“There is but one path of safety to the Latter-day Saints, and that is the path of duty. It is not testimony, it is not marvelous manifestations, it is not knowing that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true, . . . it is not actually knowing that the Savior is the Redeemer, and that Joseph Smith was His prophet, that will save you and me, but it is the keeping of the commandments of God, the living the life of a Latter-day Saint.”

Heber J. Grant

More Than Words

More than words, is the proof of who you’re,

More than declarations, your distance near or far.

The rod of truth before you, heavens will known,

More than words, is all that you have shown.

More than great knowledge is what you choose to give,

More than all you’re taught is how you choose to live.

More than just believing, a saint will go and do,

The proof of wisdom is seen when you’re faithful and true!

Emma Smith by Breana

“Oh, what a commingling of thought filled my mind for the moment, again she is here, even in the seventh trouble – undaunted, firm, and unwavering – unchangeable, affectionate Emma!”

"Thou art an electlady, whom I have called." Doctrine And Covenants 25:3

Noble Sister

Noble elect Sister you were a light and power so dear,
You walked beside your husband and filled his heart with cheer.
The kingdom built with your help, your life devoted and true,
I smile with joy as I behold all you chose to do!

Holy hymns organized by a daughter who hearkened with care,
I turn the pages of your work and rejoice as I share.
All you are my Sister is seen and held with love,
I view your work and know the beauty of God above!

"Joseph Smith, the Prophet and Seer of the Lord, has done more, save Jesus only, for the salvation of men in this world, than any other man that ever lived in it. In the short space of twenty years, he has brought forth the Book of Mormon, which he translated by the gift and power of God, and has been the means of publishing it on two continents; has sent the fulness of the everlasting gospel, which it contained, to the four quarters of the earth; has brought forth the revelations and commandments which compose this book of Doctrine and Covenants, and many other wise documents and instructions for the benefit of the children of men; gathered many thousands of the Latter-day Saints, founded a great city, and left a fame and name that cannot be slain. He lived great, and he died great in the eyes of God and his people; and like most of the Lord’s anointed in ancient times, has sealed his mission and his works with his own blood; and so has his brother Hyrum. In life they were not divided, and in death they were not separated!" Doctrine and Covenants 135:3

Holy Light

With reverence I hold the weight of sacrifice and love,
My hands turn the pages of my God above.
Each word translated by a Prophet noble and true,
My hands turn the pages and I think of you.

I rejoice in a life consecrated to God,
As I turn these pages of light, I hold the iron rod!
You went before me and devotedly blazed the trail,
I turn the pages of God and see His parted veil.

What thanks is enough to a Prophet so holy and grand,
I turn the pages you brought forth and find the strength to stand.
I rejoice in all you did for your Lord and King,
I turn these holy pages and rejoicing I sing!

Hallelujah, hallelujah, for the mighty Prophet of God,
Hallelujah, hallelujah, I hold the iron rod!

My daughter Micah made this video to honor the Prophet Joseph Smith and his dear eternal companion Emma. We rejoice in the light and love that was brought forth through their efforts to build up the kingdom of God upon the earth. We are blessed by all they chose to do for their Savior Jesus Christ. We rejoice this pioneer day in all the noble saints who blazed the trail of light and placed sacred truth in our hands. We are eternally indebted to our Heavenly King and his faithful servants!

Since its Pioneer Day I am sharing my favorite pioneer movie Legacy! Enjoy!:)
