Awakening Love

Once there was a princess who was asleep every day.

Once there was a women who did not think to pray.

Once there was queen who would not claim a crown,

Once there was girl who wore a stubborn frown.

A daughter of God fallen and lost,

She wandered and played not seeing the cost.

Not happy, not alive, just luke warm and still,

Passing the time as a lost daughter will.

Many who saw her and thought she was quite good,

But there was a truth that was not understood.

Her enemy had placed a flaxen cord on her hand,

He led her with hate to the place he had planned.

She couldn’t see him, and thought all was well,

She walked by his side as they journeyed to hell.

He whispered his lies and she believed every one,

Puffed up with pride she walked from the Son.

Toward a dark forest, toward paths of despair,

She wandered in circles going nowhere.

Tired and unfulfilled she laid by a stream,

And as she slept she had a beautiful dream.

She saw herself in a different place,

Full of love and God’s grace.

She saw her family and holy light,

She saw true love burning bright.

A world unknown to her before,

A dream that opened heaven’s door.

She awoke and thought how can this be?

I want to feel this light in me.

She tugged her arm trying to break free,

From the flaxen cord she could not see.

A desire to find God’s holy light,

Began to burn sweet and bright.

But the cords of hell do not fall fast,

She had to look into her past.

To see her sin and all the pain,

To look and see the awful stain.

Her heart broken she repented and found,

The peace of Christ her solid ground.

He reached to her with atoning power,

And she began to feel heavens shower.

Drops of mercy the storm of light,

She walked with Christ awake and bright.

The climb toward the dream she knew,

Required a life devoted and true.

No gift is given but to those who seek,

She fought and tried to be good and meek.

The chastisement upon her was hers to bear,

The Master with love, taught her to share.

Her life given to her Mighty King,

She walked with love and He healed the sting.

A transformation from blindness to sight,

Awakened to love she was burning bright.

The enemy kept striking, but God sent His power,

More dreams of hope, heavens shower.

A vision by faith kept and known,

The seed of change was nourished and grown.

Bright and beautiful a forest path clear,

She walked and talked with her Savior near.

Smiling she asked how can this be?

Look my King you live in me.

I love this world and all I see,

Thank you for coming to rescue me!

The seed of change we have grown,

My beloved King your power is known!

I love you my dearest Heavenly Friend,

I hope our bond will never end.

My child forever we will be,

The dream you chose, for now you see.

"Repentance is the Lord’s regimen for spiritual growth. King Benjamin explained that “the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.”Brothers and sisters, that means conversion! Repentance is conversion! A repentant soul is a converted soul, and a converted soul is a repentant soul." Russell M. Nelson

Heavens Shower

Standing in the shower of all God sends to me,

Grace poured down from heaven, so beautiful to see.

Dancing in the raindrops sent from above,

Spinning and rejoicing because of God’s love.

Drenched by the miracles of my great King,

I look up to heaven and lovingly sing.

Praising my Father for the gift of His Son,

Thanking my Savior for all he won.

The thunder sounds and I feel your love,

Lightning strikes the sky above.

I smile with joy and look to thee,

My beloved King you set me free!

This dance of grace, this happy day,

Your gift to me, you are my way.

I cannot hold all you send,

Raindrops of grace my Heavenly Friend.

You paid the price and now I see,

The beauty and light that lives in me.

My song, my dance, my joy, my light,

You saved us all! You won the fight!

I will live again brought forth by you,

Clean and pure through you made new.

I will dance again in an eternal shower,

A wife, a mother, through your power.

I will stand forever by grace divine,

I will dance and sing because your mine.
