When I Return
I proclaim my way, a light I send,
Yet you seek to twist and bend.
Broken hearts, I hear their cry,
I see the men who hurt
Abuse, neglect and apathy,
A world that won’t come unto me.
pride, another way,
Not to follow what I say.
gay marriage, unchastity,
This people have gone far from me.
A government that defies my way,
A nation who has gone astray.
My promised land of liberty,
I will reclaim and set free.
A new world of light I’ll bring,
With my saints in peace we'll sing!
Those little ones who had less,
Will see that God doth kindly bless.
with a mom and dad,
No more tears, no more sad.
A woman once betrayed in scorn,
be held dear, no more to morn.
Their tears I’ll dry at that great day,
When I return and light the way!
