"He will regard his people's cry, the widow's tear, the orphan's moan." Eliza R. Snow

My Cry

My tender cry no man knew,
In the quiet I came to you.
My aching soul, my burden shared,
I felt the touch of Him who cared.
A boon of grace and love divine,
In my aching, hope did shine.
My burden yours, my great King,
Atoning love and light you bring!

“Whatever God requires is right, no matter what it is, although we may not see the reason thereof till long after the events transpire.” Joseph Smith

God’s Path

What God requires I'll gladly give,
With Faith I'll follow as I live!
Not question why, but trust my King,
Not doubt and whine, but praises sing!
The way ahead through Him is sure,
Through grace and mercy I'll endure.
One day I know that I will see,
The purpose of pain, even as He.
For now I live each day and know,
His path is mine, through Him I'll grow!

“The difference between God and the Devil, is that God creates and organizes, while the whole study of the Devil is to destroy.” Brigham Young

God’s Door

God would exalt and raise you to more,
If you would hearken and open the door!
Satan would lead you to misery and wo,
His call toward sin, will you go?
God would forgive and wash you clean,
Through Christ your Savior new life is seen!
Satan would shrink you to a vessel like he,
Blind and empty no longer free.
God would open and expand your view,
Lift your heart and make you new!
To build and see, to grow in light,
To shrink in misery and loose the fight.
Will you choose your King and more?
Or follow Satan and close God's door?

"Too many of us feel after the world. Can the world give you the light that you have received, and the gospel and the hopes of heaven you have received, and the priesthood you have received? And will you barter these things for a mess of pottage, and wallow in the filth, corruption, iniquity, and evils which abound in the world?" John Taylor

My Pottage

My soul for a mess of pottage was the deal presented to me,
My enemy offered me nothing, but I accepted his offer with glee.
My soul for a mess of pottage was given with each sin,
My soul was won by the enemy, who valued not the win.
My soul for a mess of pottage was given for my pride,
My soul unwilling repent will not stand by Gods side.
My soul will inherit less than could have been my gain,
My eternal punishment will be my pottage and my pain.

"Do not be discouraged because you cannot learn all at once; learn one thing at a time, learn it well, and treasure it up, then learn another truth and treasure that up, and in a few years you will have a great store of useful knowledge...." Wilford Woodruff

My Treasure

My chest had room and so I sought,
The truth of heaven so long forgot.
The words like gems inside of me,
A precious gift that I could see!
A day, a week, a month a year,
My treasure grew as God was near!
A man lost then looked to me,
I reached inside and let him see.
And so my gift became his too,
My gem shared, helped him be true.
A day, a week, a month, a year,
My treasure kept, brought great cheer!
A trial faced but not alone,
For deep inside His word had grown.
Each day, each week, each month and year,
My treasured God I will keep near!

All will be well brothers and sisters. We like the pioneers who went before us will face trials that refine and polish us. We may feel our hearts break and fall to our knees seeking for the way to endure. I testify there is a way and that is through Christ our King. I know He lifted the pioneers and I know He lifts me even now. Our test is not our own, for our Redeemer stands with us as we choose Him and follow Him. May we rejoice today in our King! May we remember the pioneers and prophets of this The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. May we pause in prayer to acknowledge the sacrifice and light of those who built the kingdom of God on the earth. Happy Pioneer Day!:)
