The Sacrifice

In the steps of Abraham I see,
My God the price you paid for me.
As he walks beside his only Son,
I see the price you paid that I’d be won.
The wood they carry and its weight,
The cost to open heaven’s gate.
The question from Isaac, where is the lamb?
My God I hear and understand.
The knife held toward his only child,
So dear, so innocent and mild.
I watch him raise his hand and see,
My God the price you paid for me.
As my King walked the road I knew,
My God, My god your love is true.
I looked and saw His bitter crown,
No lamb to spare would be found.
Each step he took held your love,
Our Redeemer sent from above.
The nails pierce his hands and feet,
In the anguish and pain no retreat.
His cry for you pierced the air,
Yet no answer could you share.
As He suffered, I know you suffered too,
As your perfect Son sought your will to do.
For Him thy only holy Son
Alone this victory would be won!
Your courage, your love for all,
Was the way to save us from our fall.
No lamb to spare your sacrifice,
My God, My God you paid the price.

The Holy One of Israel

The Holy One of Israel, The only begotten Son of God,
The way, the truth, the foundation, you are the iron rod.
Lord of the universe, our Advocate and friend,
You offered yourself willingly, that our joy wouldn’t end.
Sacred man of holiness, the chosen Son of man,
Only you could save your people and fulfill the Fathers plan.
The Lord of Glory, our King who reigns on high,
Your power and dominion no man can deny!
Alpha and Omega, your majesty divine,
The strength to your people, your light doth ever shine!
God’s only begotten Son, you walked with perfect care,
Our Messiah our Deliverer, your love you chose to share!
Beloved dear Jehovah who set Israel free,
Then humbly came to earth, that glory they could see.
Holy dear Redeemer you bent beneath God’s will,
Swallowing death and pain, all suffering you still.
The God of our Father you walked toward Calvary,
Each step held our place, through you we are set free.
Son of the Highest, you hung upon the tree,
Our Judge, our Savior, you died to set us free!
Lord God, the great I Am, I behold your sacrifice,
And marvel at the sacred gift, our King who paid the price.
Beloved Son of God, our Advocate and friend,
Your victory we praise, your love doth have no end!

This poem was written using my notes from the Russell M. Nelson challenge which I am still working on. This challenge has been a beautiful journey of worshiping my Savior more fully. I have been studying the Savior and every scripture found in the topical guide under the name Jesus Christ. I am thankful for my beloved King and Savior. He held me safe in Gethsemane and carried me to Golgotha. He is holding me safe now as He pores out His grace upon me daily. When I look into eternity I see the King of Kings in every smile, in every blessing, in every moment. He kept those moments when He suffered and atoned for my sins. This sacred and very personal gift was done for me individually but also for every child of God who has lived upon the earth. Beyond my ability to comprehend is the burden of love he bore in the Garden of Gethsemane. He made eternal life possible for each of us, if we will repent and follow Him. He truly gave all for us, the scriptures say, "he pored his soul out unto death." I pray we will hold that sacred offering close to our hearts and cherish it. I pray we will repent and follow our greatest friend, our beloved Savior. The words of the bible run through my mind, "greater love hath no man than this, than he lay down his life for a friend." May we accept our Heavenly King, our truest friend I pray. I testify that everything is held by our decision to embrace and follow God's Son. All of eternity is before us, let us not look back with regret and see that we refused His sacred gift. Let us embrace Him now and forever, for only then are we spared the suffering of our own sins, only then are we ransomed and brought back to heaven. Only then are we lifted by Him to eternal happiness purchased by His holy blood. I offer my testimony that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is the great I Am, He is the way, the truth, the life and no man cometh unto the Father but by Him. I love Him and I am held forever by His love and sacrifice. May we ponder and rejoice in our Heavenly Father this Father's Day as we rejoice in His Son. May we see his sacrifice as a Father and rejoice in his love for us! May we show our gratitude for all He has done in preparing a way for our joy, by following that way more diligently. May we bring our broken hearts to the altar and offer our time and love as well. May our love for our Heavenly Father shine brightly for Him to see. We can bring a smile to His face brothers and sisters! I hope each of us will this Father's Day and always!:)

I am grateful for Neal A. Maxwell's special witness of Jesus Christ! This beloved apostle of God has helped me become a truer disciple of Jesus Christ. It is beautiful to see the confidence and joy in his countenance as he gives his testimony in this video. You can see and feel as he testifies that he truly knows his beloved Redeemer! So sacred!

Be Grateful

A wise holy man once counseled me,
Be grateful and happy whatever may be!
If the fabric of your life tears at the seam,
Be faithful and hopeful, believe in your dream!
If days of great trouble knock at your door,
Trust in your God who is steady and sure!
If loss and death darken the light of your day,
Know that God loves you and earnestly pray!
If loneliness and heartache cause you to groan,
Remember your King and the goodness you’ve known!
If enemies combine and the storm rages on,
Look up like Nephi be loyal and strong!
A wise holy man once counseled me,
Be grateful my daughter and God you will see!

This is the wise holy man that inspired the poem be grateful! I love Dieter F. Uchtdorf with all of my heart. He is a true apostle called of God. I am forever changed by the counsel of this dear apostle. I am grateful for the day I sat with Miranda and visited with him. Truly I have stood in holy places and been blessed. This is my all time favorite talk by this great holy man! I hope he has a wonderful Father's Day and knows that he has changed my heart for the better. My eternity holds the weight of his testimony. The transformation of his teachings lives in me! I truly am blessed to follow this great apostle of God!!!:):):)

In terms of a great Father's Day reminder, I want to focus on the importance of gratitude. The scriptures teach, "And in nothing doth man offend God, or against none is his wrath kindled, save those who confess not his hand in all things, and obey not his commandments." D&C 59:21 Brothers and sisters if we are looking for a way to show love to our dear Heavenly Father then we should begin with gratitude and follow up with obedience. This is what he wants to see in us. I testify that obedience will increase our gratitude and that gratitude will fuel our desire to offer more to God. On and on we can go from joy to more joy as we acknowledge our God and keep striving to be more faithful to his commandments! Always we are held by our King who stands ready to forgive and strengthen us as we press forward. No matter what we face I testify that we can get through. I testify that gratitude will speed our journey and make it much more enjoyable for ourselves and others!:)

All Things Created

All things in heaven and earth brought forth by God’s hand,
The fish of the ocean, the beasts on the land.
The stars that shine, the moon high above,
The lions and rabbits were created with love!
The grass in the meadow, the stream by the hill,
Were created with care by His power and will.
The potguts and butterfly’s that bring a smile to my face,
We're placed in the forest by His power and grace!
The tiniest ant to the largest bird,
We're made by the power of His infinite word!
The rocks in the canyon, the sand by the sea,
We're placed with great love, to bring joy to me!
The sun shining bright, the horse running free,
The sound of the bird He created for me!
The rain falling down, the lightening above,
Created with care by His infinite Love!
I walk on the footstool of my Heavenly King,
And rejoice in the beauty of all He doth bring!
