Love is the strongest thing in the world,
An invisible force that moves us all,
Our whole lives are spent to find it,
We are at its beck and call.
Fools, in vain try to grasp it,
They never understand;
Love is something you hold in your heart,
But can never grasp in your hand.
Love is the thing that can change us,
If anything ever could.
If only we'd love each other,
Just as the Savior would.

This is one of the best talks on true love I have ever heard! In this talk he said; "God’s love fills the immensity of space; therefore, there is no shortage of love in the universe, only in our willingness to do what is needed to feel it. To do this, Jesus explained we must “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, … soul, … strength, and … mind; and thy neighbour as thyself” His statement reminds me of the truth we learn in the scriptures, "if ye have not charity, ye are nothing." (Moroni 7:46) I testify that as we live with true charity we will find joy we never knew. Charity will open our eyes to all of God's love and we will find everything!:)

Father's Love

To magnify your Father's love, is to see with grateful eyes,
To travel through life’s lows while holding to the highs!
To look beyond what’s lacking and see that God is kind,
To treasure up the blessings He sends for you to find.
To sit and look with happiness at a bird that soars above,
To glance into a child’s eyes and feel His endless love.
To feel the breeze upon your cheek like a kiss sent just for you,
To dip your feet in the cool of the brook and know that God is true.
To stand in the storm and smile as the lightning strikes again,
To know that God is always there your constant steady friend.
To delight as you look upward into a sky of stars so bright,
To thank God for His wonders, for heavens perfect light.
To look with joy and gratitude at the rainbow up above,
To treasure up the moment as you feel your Fathers love!
To skip toward the temple with a song of hope in your heart,
To rejoice in the atonement that gave you a new start!
To magnify your Father's love, is to see with grateful eyes,
To travel through life’s lows while holding to the highs!

This is an awesome talk that teaches the importance of loving all of our brothers and sisters! In this talk he said, "In so many relationships and circumstances in life, we must live with differences. Where vital, our side of these differences should not be denied or abandoned, but as followers of Christ we should live peacefully with others who do not share our values or accept the teachings upon which they are based. The Father’s plan of salvation, which we know by prophetic revelation, places us in a mortal circumstance where we are to keep His commandments. That includes loving our neighbors of different cultures and beliefs as He has loved us. As a Book of Mormon prophet taught, we must press forward, having “a love of God and of all men”

Our differences need not create bad feelings. We can love even our enemies, the Savior taught, "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you."(Matthew 5:44) I testify that we can overcome the natural man and love all of God's children!:)

The Great Commandment

The second great commandment is to love our fellow men,
This doesn't come with provisos on how they live or sin.
We each have been given the right to choose our own way,
So we must respect each other and live in love each day.
The precious gift of agency was fought for by us all,
In heaven we stood together when Satan issued his call.
We have more in common than we can ever have apart,
For in the beginning with our Father we each made our start.
As we journey on may our differences never bring hate,
May our arms of loving compassion always light the way.
The second great commandment is to love our fellow men,
This doesn't come with provisos on how they live or sin.

This summer I did the Book of Mormon challenge with the youth of the Spring Creek Ward! It was a blessing and joy to read this sacred book over the summer. As I completed the book of Moroni and pondered all of the holy prophets throughout the book, my heart swelled with joy and love for these precious sons. I thought I would share the poem I wrote when I completed the Book of Mormon.

Precious Sons of God

Precious sons of God you show me where to go,
Your holy written words guide me safety home,
Your voices call out from the past a beacon in my day,
Your holy light gives me strength as I journey on my way.
Precious sons of God, servants of the Lord,
Your witness in this book is Gods holy word.
As I see the past my future is made bright,
Precious sons of God you bring heavens light.
You honored your beloved Redeemer, and served with all you had,
Your testimony lifts my heart and makes my spirit glad.
When I read your faithful record a greater joy is known.
As I turn each holy page the truth of God is shown.
Precious sons of God, your life and light live on,
Thank you for your sacrifice; for leading me back home.
Forever I will treasure the light you placed in me,
Your testimony of the Savior was beautiful to see!
Precious sons of God, please know I hold you dear,
I see your worthy example, it beckons me from fear.
Precious sons of God, in you I see my King,
A witness strong and true of all that He doth bring.
When I meet you there at the great and final day,
I will thank you again for leading me on my way!
Precious sons of God, your witness now lives in me,
Behold what you have done, the seed is now a tree!
Sacred is the record that Joseph brought to light,
Holy is its witness of heaven’s perfect light!
Sacred sons of God, you lived each day with love,
Now you stand forever with you Savior up above!

I love this song! Two of my favorite lines is this song are; “All you can do is try to know who your friends are as you head off to the war. Pick a star on the dark horizon and follow the light.” My dearest friends are the friends of my beloved Redeemer Jesus Christ! They are the stars on the dark horizon. They are a witness of God’s love for his children! I am so very grateful for our living prophet Thomas S. Monson and for all the apostles that serve with him! These holy men are a light that I treasure!

Light In The Darkness

Heavenly Father has given me help as I journey home;
Living prophets and apostles that teach the way to go.
These servants of the Lord are good and strong and true,
They follow the Saviors example and do what He would do.
Their words of light and truth call us back with love;
They are the hands and voice of the Father and Son above.
As we open our ears and hear with a humble soul;
We can overcome our weakness and reach our eternal goal.
These honorable men have been chosen by our God,
To help us understand His will and cling to the iron rod.
We are not without direction if we follow their words of light.
If we apply the truth they’ve given, we can make it through the darkest night!

One of the sweet blessings of my mortal life was writing poetry with Miranda. We wrote this poem together following general conference in 2014!
