The Decision

Once there was a girl who was presented with a plan,
Her master asked her obedience while she lived upon the land.
He asked her to be good, clean, kind and true,
He said, do unto others as you would have done to you.
He explained that she would need to walk the faithful higher way,
To let the light of heaven guide her through each day.
He reminded her of His sacrifice for the times that she would fail,
Through repentance and obedience in the end she could prevail.
He promised if she would be faithful he would grant her eternal life.
The condition that she endure well, refusing sin and strife.
He spoke to her of her mansion created with great care,
He reminded her that obedience was the path to take her there.
She nodded as she listened for she understood the plan,
Leaving her Master teacher she journeyed through the land.
As she lived among men and the trifles of her day,
She began to love the world and all it had to say.
It's offering of sin and selfishness pleased her carnal mind,
A reason to restrain herself she didn’t seek to find.
Indulging in the things her God commanded her to refuse,
She had chosen Satan to be her master, guide and muse.
Her footsteps ever followed where her darkened master lead,
Her mouth was ever an echo of the darkness that he spread.
At last her journey ended and her spirit returned above,
She remembered her premortal life clearly and her Fathers endless love.
Weeping in her prison she knew what she had done,
She had chosen nothing, over all she could have won.
Her story is a warning to those who still have time,
To repent and follow the Savior who does so sweetly shine.
Before each of us is a decision, will we choose our mansion above?
Will we live with our Heavenly Father in happiness and love?

Choices

The message of this song reminds me of the girl in my poem. It is a song of regret not change. I hope we can live now for a song of eternal happiness and joy, rather than a song of eternal regret.

Why not now?

I absolutely love listening to Neal A. Maxwell teach! At the close of this amazing talk he said, "And, if you sense that one day every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord, why not do so now? For in the coming of that collective confession, it will mean much less to kneel down when it is no longer possible to stand up!" I hope we will each decide to follow our beloved Savior Jesus Christ now. Satan encourages us to procrastinate the day of our repentance and commitment to follow our Redeemer. Following this subtle tactic can land us with the eternal consequence of regret. Let us treasure up the truth Amulek taught, "this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God."

Moral Agency

I am so very grateful for our beloved prophet Thomas S. Monson and all the apostles of the Lord. This video is a beautiful explanation of our moral agency. I am grateful for my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! It is a privilege and blessing to hear the word of the Lord taught by His true ordained servants!:)

Come Unto Christ!:)

How many times have I put this beautiful song on different blog posts? Well I think three. It is a beautiful and hopeful message that we all need to remember. We can repent and change; and why not now?
