How precious a gift I was sent from above, A small precious baby for me to love. Wrapped up in pink with a bow in her hair, My sister from Heaven lying there. My eyes fill with tears as I look at her face, So perfect and precious in this unsure place. I wonder in my heart if I am enough, For this precious child sent from above. The hours the days the years come and go, My daughter has grown into the women I know; I look at her now so mature and smart, I remember that day when we made our start. How precious a gift I was sent from above, A beautiful daughter for me to love. Now standing in white with a veil in her hair, My sister from Heaven is worthy and fair. My eyes fill with tears as I look at her face, So perfect and precious in this sacred place. I smile so happy she has chosen her Father above, She will live forever wrapped in his love, I will stand by her and we will have joy, Eternal happiness that none can destroy.

The Family: A Proclamation To The World!
Defenders of the Family Proclamation
I loved this amazing talk given by Bonnie L. Oscarson! I am grateful for this faithful daughter of God!:) In her talk she said, "may I point out something obvious? Life rarely goes exactly according to plan for anyone, and we are very aware that not all women are experiencing what the proclamation describes. It is still important to understand and teach the Lord’s pattern and strive for the realization of that pattern the best we can. Each of us has a part to play in the plan, and each of us is equally valued in the eyes of the Lord." This acknowledgement lovely given caused my eyes to fill with tears. I understand in a way I never have before the reality of things "not going according to plan." Yet amid the difficulties I am facing my testimony of the family has been strengthened.
There is only one plan that leads to happy eternal families, and that is our Heavenly Fathers plan. The world cannot think to write it's own set of rules and find eternal joy. True lasting joy is found as we follow our Redeemer and Heavenly Father. We can look to the light that they send with peace in our hearts. The family proclamation is a beautiful gift from God that explains his expectations regarding the family. As we embrace the Father's plan for us we will find the peace and joy we are searching for.
Sometimes the fulfillment of God's promised blessings will be delayed but as Bonnie said, "we should remember that a loving Heavenly Father is aware of our righteous desires and will honor His promises that nothing will be withheld from those who faithfully keep their covenants." Having peace amid the unexpected trials of life is connected to keeping our covenants; if we have honored our promises to God, we will have peace not matter what we face. I testify that there is one path that leads to happy eternal families; may each of us place our feet on that path I pray.
In My Daughters Eyes!
I testify that we can see all the way into eternity when we look into our daughters eyes! We can live worthy of our children and be with them forever! I am very grateful for the righteous daughters that God has sent to me, they have inspired me with their amazing examples! I am forever changed because Heavenly Father blessed me with these eternal friends, Breana, Miranda and Micah!:)
P.S. I will do a separate post on the gift of a son....
